Alas, I'm still adrift in a sea of soaps and creams that I like to some degree or another, but I have not yet found my "go to" product for lathering. I have been using TOBS Shaving Stop cream every day for some time, but that's mainly to use it up; it's not all bad, the smell grew on me, but I doubt I'll buy another tub when I'm done with this one that seems to keep going and going.

    TOBS Shaving Shop
    Mama Bear Unscented Glycerine soap
    Mama Bear Rosemary Mint soap
Bath & Body works remarketed Proraso cream
    Toms of Maine Calendula cream
    Toms of Maine Peppermint

I'd like to try Tabac but I have to use up some of the above first to make room.

    Any other suggestions?

Oh, and +1 for a wife that won't allow Aqua Velva in the house.

If you havent tried TGQ (Colleen's) Soaps/cream's you havent lived. I HIGHLY recommend the Leatherneck, and no, not because I'm biased. It really is a great scent and the soap she makes is far superior to any I've tried. A lot of guys say they have some issues with lathering, but I never have. You may have to tweek your lather building routine a bit, but its worth it IMHO. Giver a try, you wont be sorry. She is definitely my "go to" soap/cream supplier.

FAZAY !.......Ignore the (well intentioned) ribbing from our brothers.

Williams is something less than the wonderful "boutique" creams and hard soaps that we enjoy today.

(I'll be the first one to admit to an addiction to the "three T's") !

That being said, I'd bet that there were (and ARE) more Fathers, Grandfathers......(AND BARBERS), who use Williams....than Trumpers, T&H

My opinion is: "ANYONE that wet-shaves, owes it to himself, (even if only
for one cake), to experience and enjoy this most BASIC treat of "The Good-Old Days".

I love William's too, but don't use it all the time. I find you can beef up the lather with a touch of olive oil in your mug as well!

Williams soap is my main every day soap. I like it. It works. There are better of course. I use one from Sue at St. Charles Shave for a treat. Adding a dab of Kiss My Face unscented shave cream helps out the Williams too.

My preference is Williams as well, course its the only one I have
It sits in the Hoppes #9 cup. Couple weeks ago wally wolrd had it on clearence for 75 cents. I think I have enough to last about 3 years.

Walmart had discounted Williams Mug Soap from $0.75 to $0.50, so I bought the last 7 Pucks.

I like Old-Spice. I have a bottle from 1981 that was my fathers, and i refill it and use after almost every shave. Soap wise, I like Williams, but i can't say it is for sentimental reason... my Dad shaved with aeresol

I might have an affinity for williams because i get it 65 cents a puck though

    William's and Aqua Velva here!

Although, I just tried Coleen's Cavendish Black puck, and it was REALLY nice! Oh, and my wife thinks that Old Spice smells like old man...

I love the soaps from Colleen and Mama Bear. But I love Old Spice after shave it reminds me of my dad. So I guess your wife is right about reminding her of old men. Dad was born in 1917.
