I know C&E has a sweet almond oil cream, that's pretty good. Their soaps are crap though.

Thanked: 32Is the valobra a sweet almond scent? I think glycerin soaps tend to be the sweeter marzipan scent I'm looking for while hard soaps tend to be a more authentic almond, although I haven't tried many hard soaps so I don't know. I may try one by Mama Bear, Honeybee Spa or Susie's Bubbles (or all of them). Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm not really sure about the scent your after, but the valobra smells to me like Conk on steroids. It really does remind me of the smell of my mother baking with marzipan. One reviewer at B&B called it "Marzipan for your face." I've not used the Cella, but from the pictures and descriptions of it, this seems very similar to the Valobra. It has a putty texture that's easily molded. I use it like a soap molded into a bowl.

Yeah, that's a good one. Also www.olivia-seife.de makes some nice ones. You could try her.

Hi there,
I'd agree with Joelski, and would suggest the Cella for the type of scent you're looking for. It has a very definite marzipan fragrance to it. It's available in 150g tubs over at www.razorandbrush.com for $12.
If you order from Gio at that site, you'll need to hurry. He will be taking a vacation on the 15th, and will be unable to ship items for the following three weeks .
I've used the Cella, and I'd bet the scent is just what you're looking to sniff.
Hope that helps,
Martin

Thanked: 0I've been using Mama Bear's almond soap (not cream) for about a month now and I love every minute of it. The almond smell is sweet, but not overpowering, and it lathers nicely with good staying power. I haven't tried other almond brands, but I may not need to now.

eShave's Almond is very...almondy. Really, it smells just like the tubs of marzipan in a bakery. Shaves pretty well too.
