I'm sorry, but I can't compare the two, having never sniffed that Valobra soap. I'll tell you though, the Cella is exactly what I think of when 'almond' scent comes to mind. It's got quite a deep marzipan thing going on, along with maybe a hint of .....black cherry maybe? I can't imagine you not finding this............no, I take that back..........heh. I'm fairly confident that the Cella will scratch that particular itch. Hehe, don't wanna forget about the YMMV thingy.

I have the Classic and the Conk's both are good soaps but for Almond one of the best I have found is the C & E Sweet Almond Oil Soap and cream but it is my understanding that they are discontinued

I am very new to using a straight razor, but I have been using Cella Crema da Barba for about 3 months. My general experience over the past year has been with GFT hard soaps (rose is my favorite,) Taylor of Old Bond St, and Proraso Sopane' (cream not foam.) I have to say that the Cella Crema da Barba is my favorite product so far. I love the marzipan smell, and the lather is great. B&B users have mentioned that it is hard to lather, but the key ingredient to lathering Cella is temperature. Your scuttle cannot be too hot, nor too cold. There is a sweet spot where Cella just lathers beautifully. I am very interested in trying the Santa Maria Novella Shaving Sopane' because their product line is so good, unfortunately expensive. Until then, Cella is my goto sopane' with the GFT Rose on the weekends.

If you like almond, I'd recommend P.160. It's a great lathering soap and nice and smooth.
