Thanked: 1262it is true..
I made one yesterday morning using my homemade soap(which i dont even like too much by itself) and some proraso cream.
Just dont try to make it too complicated...
Some kind of glycerin based soap + your favorite cream, then gradually add water while whipping it up until you reach a consistency you like!
But seriously, go to wallyworld and pick up some VDH for $1.50 and see if you have better luck making uber lather with it.

Just my two cents, Mama Bear's Soap's doesn't play well with others. You must use them alone. No need to Uber them as they are high in Glycerin. I think that's your mistake. Try it alone. What type of brush do you have..
We have assumed control !

Glen, I can see that the process might be an enjoyable one. I think that my concern is, there are a LOT of new shavers here that think Ueberlather is the only way to make lather, and it seems to add layers of complication to the process that can make it frustrating for the new shaver--thus we get the OP. I think it might be better for people to learn the basic skill of lather making FIRST, and then try refinements like Ueberlather (or superlather, as Mantic calls it) or whatnot, later.
A new shaver won't know the difference, because they don't know what regular lather (Unterlather?) feels like.
**full disclosure**I am a new straight shaver, but I've been using a brush and soap for a while now, and lathering technique was my focus for MONTHS as a DE shaver.

Jim...
Do you just use that same mug all the time...I take it you dont load then go to another mug or bowl to finish creating the lather? I may try that.
