Thanked: 16Microwave lather?
Any one tried whipping up a lather short stint in the microwave maybe a little refreshing with the brush to get a hot lather? May have to give this a go tomorrow...

Don't have a microwave anymore, but wouldn't it cause the tiny bubbles you've whipped up to burst? I can see you ending up with a runny mess. Let us know how it goes.

Depending on the type of soap, I doubt anything good will come of it. The tallow based stuff may still be lather when it's done, but will probably be "burned" and smell funny. A Glycerine based would turn to liquid in a few seconds.
Anyway, how did it go?

Thanked: 156What if you boiled some water, put it in a bowl, then stuck your lather bowl within the larger bowl full of boiling water? That'll make the lather nice and hot. I do it.

Thanked: 16So the lather got a thin as it expanded and nearly overflowed the mug in the microwave, might have left it in a little long, did not seem to thicken up much with a little more whipping so decided to give it a go
went on hot and I got about 1 pass on half my face done before the rest of it started to cool and collapse to a thick soap crust on my face was amusing to try perhaps with a milder heating regiment something may come of it but with it cooling that quickly and what not... probably be rather hit or miss each time.

I have a little potpourri crock pot, I put some hot water in it, place a larger vessell in the crock and mix up soap or cream in that. I put hot water in the larger vessell first, and let it heat up a bit, then pour it out, mix up my cream or soap. By the time I'm done with first pass, I unplug it. The built up heat is enough to last for 2 or 3 more passes, but not enough to dry out the soap....I have a post on here somewhere. There are all kinds of scuttles out there with little hot water resovoir's to keep your soap hot, This works for me...No one likes cold shave cream or soap, there's nothing like hot lather....Rich
