What is your brand?
I'm currently trying to find the brand and type/smell that fit me best.
So far I have mostly been sampling different stuff and bought traveling size things.CF and AOS is by far my favourits, but I don't want to invest in a full size set(Preshave, cream\soap, lotion and cologne) Until I'm certain that I have found a winner.I have recently ordered a full sampler of trufit and hill stuff(all creams\lotions and colognes!) I have also ordered some tabac soap.Next up is some traveling size AOS stuff!
So what is your brand, and why?
(I automaticly assume that everyone else want a pure line of products in the same brand/smell)

Thanked: 1903You can find mine in the Reviews - Straight Razor Place Forums. CF Lavendar and Lime. Bit on the expensive site, but they work best for me.

Soap - TGQ. Best soap performance by far and the scents are clean and natural.
Cream - T&H. I have found the performance to be just as good as CF.

Thanked: 235My favorite is Barbers Special Shaving Cream from Turnley's in Melbourne, Victoria. Its a shame that few people here will ever get to try it because you can only buy it from barber shops in Victoria

The problem I find with a lot of creams is that the smell is too strong, or it is packed full of artificial ingredients that lead to skin irritation and overall discomfort.
Of course, the flip-side is that most creams with a high percentage of natural ingredients are expensive as heck.
Then I found Nancy Boy. I really like the understated yet defining scent of their Signature Shaving Cream. It isn’t too strong but definitely lets you know it’s there. It smells manly too, but without being overbearing/aggressive like a lot of creams. It’s like a crisp breath of mountain air with an undertone of peppermint; very clean and fresh but without being antiseptic.
The ingredients are all top-quality natural and I experience zero irritation. It moisturises, protects, and provides a good later despite that it is marketed as not being a lathering cream. It isn't quite as rich in lather as TOBS, but I've seen other (more expensive) "lathering" creams do worse.
The best part? The price. $18 for 6oz in a fully recyclable container. I mean, for this type of quality it’s unheard of. One of the tricks is that they have a $0 advertising budget; everything is word-of-mouth and they pass the savings to the customers. Their website is entertaining and fun to read. Oh, and don't forget to sign up for their website/newsletter for a 15% discount on all products every time you shop!
And if the name concerns you, well, I look at it like this; it takes a real confident macho man to pull off wearing pink, and a guy with equal gusto to use a cream from a company called Nancy Boy with a little blue pansy on the tub. (Which you can scratch off if you absolutely must.)

PS: I also like TOBS.Last edited by NightLad; 06-28-2009 at 09:28 PM.

My favorite is Tabac. I like the smell. It rerminds me of clubing in the 80s and 90s and the soap makes a really good lather. Good luck finding your favorite.

Thanked: 137I'm pretty new, so don't have a firm favourite. At the moment, I'm a fan of the Ogallala shave soaps, especially the Bay Rum, Sage and Cedar; Bay Rum and Sandalwood; and Bay Rum and Lemongrass. Bought myself some Omega shave soap today (they call it a soap but it's so soft I'd call it a cream) and am looking forward to experimenting with uberlathers using this and my GFT cream samples.

I'm a proud TGQ man, Leatherneck soap being my scent of choice, but I also really like the Gentleman's Oak and Moss cream.
