Thanked: 190Welcome to straight shaving! There is a lot with what will get the job done. I find that the items tailored to straight shavers are just more comfortable to use and give you a better performance from start to finish. You can find worthy products that are cost effective and other products that are spendy.
Everyone has different preferences and the fun goes into trying a few.

My all time favorite is TABAC,
Erasmic is the runner up with Irish Moos,
After those three, Palmolive and Ingram are tied.
I must say that I do like them all, each is unique in its own way.
Depending on my mood is how I choose.
Have fun with it and keep researching the different brands, smells, feels, try them all!
https://www.superlather.com/ was a great place that I bought a lot from. He is also a SRP member...and a good guy.

I'm a Palmolive guy. Wish it was still being sold here in the US, though. Now, it's a bit more of a pain to get. Love the stick and the various versions of the cream.
MEM and ARKO fight it out for a close second, though.Last edited by omegapd; 08-27-2009 at 08:42 AM.

Irisch Moos, Speick, La Toja....those are probably my top 3 'lines' (where I like and use the stick and/or cream, AS, and cologne if available...)

I do love those Gentleman's Quarter soaps. The leatherneck and lime margarita are my favorites. However, I am trying out Mitchell's Wool Fat soap for a bit, to see if it's better on my skin. So far, the lathering isn't as nice... seems to dry out quicker than TGQ's.

I still have alot of experimenting and trials to do, but so far, The Gentlemens Refinery Creams are what I use the most.
