Truefitt and Hill 1805, it's great, ranks up there with CF. The fragrance is awesome...
I have so many soaps and creams, I don't even want to say, but if i had to pick one cream only, Hand down, T&H 1805, for lather, fragrance, moisture, etc....with CF close behind, then AOS. I think the 1805 is the only one Joeman has not tried...It's coming his way soon......

You can try samples from the Shave Den? I believe....

Soap: Tabac. It lathers easily and really moisturizes. I cannot recommend it enough.

Creams: Cyril Salter (Fresh Mint, Sublime, Classic Almond or Indian Sandalwood) or TOBS (Lavender or Avocado)

I like a lot of different products, but Proraso has
been the most consistently slick and comfortable
creme so far. I like the pre-shave cream also.

Col. Conk Soap. It does a decent job, lasts a long time, and I am getting excellent BBS results.

Tabac is king in my eyes, after that Colleen's soaps at TGQ are second in line. The only thing that actually holds Colleen's soaps back a little, for me, is the way they kind of burn my face when I lather with them.

Preference here is a very personal matter. I currently use Mama Bear's soaps, and have a number of different fragrences - from lavender to Beau Brummel. The main reason for my brand preference, however, is simple - cost. There are a number of soaps and creams that perform as well for me, but they all cost more (for no good reason as far as I can tell).

You make a good point with Mama Bear's and the cost. I would be interested to see what a cost model might produce on MB's vs Tabac. Tabac is a tallow based triple milled so it should last longer than MB's, which is a glycerin base. Not a knock on MB's, I love Sue's stuff, just interesting since Tabac is reasonable in price.

Who knows, probably not the most effective use of anyone's time to examine the question, as they are both great products.
