Thread: CarrieM's Creams...

I didn't read this thread until tonight because I'm not really that into soap/creams the way I am into razors and hones. However, having a tub of Carrie's Bay Rum and samples of First Frost, Rose, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Lavender I figure I can contribute.
I selected the Bay Rum because I love the aroma and I wasn't disappointed on receiving the tub. Wonderful Bay Rum aroma. I am a fan of various Rose soaps and will be going for a tub of the Rose based on the sample and the First Frost was great too.
What really got me was the Black Raspberry Vanilla. TBH upon reading the label I thought yuck. I would have never selected that in a million years..... hey .... I was an iron worker for twenty years on high steel. We don't do candy. So I opened the sample and the aroma was delicious.
I said this is the first time I have read this thread and it is. So help me, I called Joe and told him that I had to restrain myself from eating the stuff. Reading that Jeremy and others had the same reaction was a kick. Not to mention the dog. All I can say is that great minds think alike. BTW consistency, latherability, cushion were all first rate. The aroma of the lavender wasn't my cup of tea but the others are on my to get list. Highly recommended.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1903Tried the Dragon's Blood tonight. Not quite my cup of tea, because the scent is intense, and lingers: amber, myhrr, cedar and patchouli. Warm and sensual with spicy undertones which give it an energising edge - but still a bit too much for my taste. If you like bayrum and sweet scents, this one may be for you. Me, I'll stick to my lemongrass...

Thanked: 12I broke down and got a couple of creams. My question is this. When lathering these should I do the dollop in the bowls or just a short swirl with my brush sufficient for a 3 pass shave?
