The "must try" soap?
I only have one soap as of now and that is a Taylor of Old Bond Street with sandalwood scent that is hard to get a good lather with my favorite brush, which is quite soft. It is much easier with a harder brusher. However I do love the scent.
I would like to try a new soap but my girlfriend and I have had quite some discussions about my SR obsession so I can only buy one soap unfortunately. What would you say is the "ultimate" soap? I know this is very subjective but I would still like your input.
I'm also looking for an after shave or after shave balm with a scent similar to the sandalwood or that type of scent. I used to like the more sporty scent in the past but that doesn't do it for me anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Regards,
Magnus

There are tons of good quality soaps out there to try out.
The one you have is a good one, and lathers quite similar,IMHO, to most others out there. Some a bit easier, and some a bit more difficult.
A good reasonably priced soaps to try out is Tabac. Should be available in brick and mortar stores in Sweden.
If I may, I would suggest you try out a good Cream instead. You have a soap, why not try the other variety?
The aforementioned Tabac would be a fine option, Palmolive should be available in many drug stores, and The body shop has a very good cream called Macca Root shaving cream.
These are all easier to lather up and does an equally good or better job, IMHO, as the soaps. Both in regards to cushion and glide.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

One of my favorites is L'Occitane Cade shave soap. It lathers well for me with both my Pure and Silvertip brushes. For harder soaps though I soak my puck in hot water for about 5 minutes or more to soften it up before I lather.
I have yet to use MWF or Tabac but have them on my list to buy as well since they are talked up so much on most forums I have seen.

If price is not a huge concern, I would honestly have to say buy Martin de Candre (google it to buy direct). If I could only have one soap in my den, this would probably be it. The scent is lavender (not floral) and mint. The soap lathers like nobody's business, and it leaves my skin incredibly soft. Add to that the slickness and cushion you get from this stuff and it's near perfect, IMHO!
It's not a cheap soap, and the shipping pushes the price even higher, but if you try it and don't like it, I'd buy it from you for what you pay...He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

I know of Tabac etc but none are easily found in Sweden, unless you live in one of the big cities. I have the Palmolive soap not cream but the scent doesn't really do it for me.
I'm thinking of ordering the MWF together with ToOBS sandalwood AS. Just need to pitch the idea to the old lady.

Thanked: 3Klar Kabinett is a great soap, if you can find it. I think bullgoose has it on their website. Real easy to lather, light and clean scent, and it performs great.

My vote would be for Proraso. It's very heavy on the menthol and eucalyptus, so you'll get a nice cooling shave, but does not leave any residual scent to interfere with your AS of choice.

Penhaligons Endymion cream is a must try IMO.
If I had to stick with one cream or soap this would be it.

My vote goes to MWF. It lathers easily (for me), makes a great lather with glide and cushion. It has so much cushion, in fact, that I don't even think I could nick myself if I tried (don't try to nick yourself).
That being said, good luck making a choice.
