You might be waiting a long time for a US distributor I know one British vendor did approach them and was told they were not interested in distributing through any other outlet, other than there own.

I was able to get my jar of Martin de Candre when my girl friend went to Paris to visit a childhood friend. She bought me a jar as her little gift to me. Doesn't get much better than that.

Wonder if I can find a shop here in Germany that sells it. Wouldn't mind stocking up before I go back to the states next year.

    Hello, LeftStanding:

Martin de Candre is sold nowhere else except where it is produced in Paris. That's what I understand, anyway.

That is a huge bummer. I checked on the site, hoping that shipping to my German address vs. my APO Box would be cheaper... no such luck.

I'll tell you guys something. My wife had ordered a bunch of stuff from them. The order came within 4 days and happily she got a wood box they sell which is neat and has room to stash many of the soaps I have however the order which was around 10 lbs mostly bar soaps and some soaps in heavy glass bottles. I paid...gulp...you all sitting down for this? I paid...err...smelling salt time...$109.00 shipping. Yes you read that right. Unfortunately I didn't see it until days after she ordered the stuff. Of course we now have about 3 years supply of soap however...

Yes I think a group buy is a great idea. Even better if we could split it up in modest samples...that would really cut the price down to an justifed price.

    thebigspendur:

Oh, dear, dear, a $109 shipping tab is enough to pay off the national debt — well, almost. Then again, my good man, the dearly beloved is worth it. Besides, when she becomes enamored with Martin de Candre soaps, you will have no problem ordering the shave soap when you run out of your current stash. Now, that is sound reason, what?

    Stay well,

    Obie
