I've got the plain menthol crystals. I think I'll break up a bunch (3-5g) in a mortar and pestle and dissolve it into the first drippings for the lathering bowl and add menthol to whatever I'm using. Or maybe I could dilute it into a little container and use a dropper.
Hey OP, see if you can find menthol crystals in a health food store or herbalist shop. It's not very difficult to crush them up. You get a lot for the money. I've used menthol in my home-made aftershaves for months with great success.

looking for a nice cool menthol feeling? for my shave today, i made an uberlather with omega soap, proraso cream, and two drops of vegetable glycerin. putting water on my face after each pass never felt so refreshing. definitely an awesome menthol feeling.

Queen Charlotte's Soap, Vostok. It's now available as a hard soap too.

Thanked: 3I like Headblade's Headslick mentholated shave cream. You can get an 8 oz bottle of it at Walgreens for about $9.

After seeing the recommendation for al's Chillwhip, I bought myself some. It is amazing stuff. Just order a tub if custom scent and put 'Chillwhip' as the desired scent.
