For anyone curious, you can perfectly recreate that scent by mixing the essentials oils of lavender, orange, and peppermint with some pure lanolin. That "mossy forest" as far as my nose can tell is the exact same smell as sheep...stink, funk, odor, whatever you want to call it. I actually really liked the scent of MdC.
Defintely work with it. Honestly, I'm not a shave soap guy, I basically use creams, but this one I really like...Yeah, I work the brush into it, a bit... I don't skimp, maybe I'm overdoing it. It's a good amount of lather for a soap, and it's a good lather, thick, rich, almost like you'd get from a cream. I do use a scuttle. TBH, I thought the smell was kind of odd at first, almost medical smelling to me...wierd. But, lot's of soaps and creams took some getting used to for me. I like it now...I had google translate the directions, I think it say's to swirl your brush 3x, and then 3x again...? Yeah, I'm doing a bit more than that...it does mention to rinse it the suds off the soap when your done, let to let the soap dry and leave it uncovered..The wooden bowl that is....

As I said, I used it purposely for a week straight. I think that's a good idea for any new soap or cream, that way you get to learn it's individuality.
