It's a very straightforward soap and performs marvellously even with hard water.

Mama Bear's is very user friendly, Just like SRD's Soaps. Both of these are top performer's and lather up easily without much tweaking.
I hope you don't have any problems with the TOBS Sandalwood. It has a very strong Sandalwood fragrance. You mentioned sensitive skin. Different from any other Sandalwood I've tried. We have assumed control !

I've got to order another alum bar from her. The one I've been using for a year, only has about 4 months left on it.

Absolutely love Mama Bear's soaps. GREAT lather!! The scent's are clean but not overbearing. Just enough scent lingers to give me some nice aroma therapy for several hours after shaving.
I have one of her unscented 100% natural soaps that I prefer to use when I am applying a scented aftershave, and it performs as well as the rest.
I have hard water with a water softener, and when I forget to add salt to the machinery I really notice no difference between lathering ability so I would guess that your hard water isn't going to be a factor.
Happy bloodless shaves to youAny day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

I've tried several of hers, and concur on the lather.
