If I want to strop in between passes, I have time. If I want to change razors, soap, whatever, I have time. I am always reading about what someone had to do because they are running short on time. Have some self discipline and make the commitment! You won't regret it! BTW, I work anywhere from 10-12 hrs a day, and like to do things when I get home, small projects mostly, or hunting for razors, just keeping busy. You can sleep when you're dead...besides, I would rather be busy than bored.

I do both, for me it depends on the time I have, the length of my facial hair and mostly how lazy I feel (if I want to clean up the extra bowl). Play with both and see what you enjoy.

In my limited experience, I have found that the only soap or cream that I currently own that lathers better on my face is MWF. Other than that, I use my scuttle.

Some soaps do not like a hot scuttle, some work well in one. All seem to improve in slickness when face lathered. JMO.

I've tried both. I prefer the bowl method only because I have a tendancy to make my face lather too thin.

Both are useful for me...but I like to rub my face with the brush, I feel that helps my beard to be shaved easier

I do 2 videos for the spanish wetshaving forum foroafeitado to show other people my way to get lather, sorry for the spanish language, I don't have an english version....yet

In face with painting strokes (useful to avoid the bad feeling of a shaving brush with stiff tips)

    In a bowl

I mug or bowl lather because I don't like cit hair from my passes that may be on the brush to transfer to the soap 😄

Preload brush then Face lather most shaves, only bowl lather on weekends when I have a bit extra time, must admit the warm bowl lather appeals for 2nd & 3rd passes
As the face lather is generally cold by then
    Saved,
    to shave another day.
