Well now, if you want REAL heart attack food, in some areas in the States - Wisconsin, for instance - we deep fry those cheese curds. Of course, we'll deep fry just about anything.. or wrap it in bacon. Then there is:

I think our local Fall fair had deep fried butter this year, that has to be good right?

Ok so I tried the MWF in an über lather with some glycerine and some Proraso Red. Didn't get as much irritation this time. I used a Silvertip brush and a Torry razor that I know is in good shaving condition. But I still felt the irritation when I lathered after my first pass. Still not sold on the idea that I'm lanolin sensitive so ill give it another few attempts before using it to wash the dog (just kidding).

Hows your pressure when you shave. I have a heavy hand and have to remind myself to shave the lather, not the beard. So even with what I think was a great irritation free shave the alum is the truth seeker and I have little spots of sting that tells me the truth of my hand weight. Hey, the dog might like a lanolin bath.

Ahhhhh yes, the alum block!!

At one point I had cut this out of my routine, then picked up the block again for the heck of it, and bliss followed!!

I'd forgotten how awesome a face-rub with the alum block is, now I use it every time, just because it feels sooooo gooooood!!

Ok so I have a 130 pound Rottie/Bernese cross that is petrified of water, I would rather hit my thumb with a hammer than bath him.

I'm heavy handed as well (I hate that stupid alum block!!!). I very consciously tried to maintain light pressure. I also compared this shave to last night where I used Irisch Moos and I barely felt the alum block. Sooooo, more testing needed

I also just started using an alum block (can you tell I just received a big order?). It's crazy what it does to your skin, like it tightens it right up, I wasn't expecting it. I really like it, ill probably like it more once I can consistently use it without it stinging.

Alum does tighten your skin up...if you have a styptic pen, it's alum, used to close a wound.

I like the sting and the tight feeling it gives. Only occasionally do I get a good stinging all over the face, usually it's just a nice tingling...disinfects and feels great!
