Default Just received Truefitt & Hill Sample Pack

    Hello everyone,

Like the title says, I just received my sample pack of truefitt & hill shaving creams. They even threw in a grafton shaving cream one which wasn't on the list. My question is how have members here found these to lather best? Less water than others or more water than others? Also, which scent do people recommend I begin with?

    Thanks,

    KWood34

Very timely, I was actually thinking of trying the sample pack myself. I've only tried a couple of their products, so I figure this is a good way to sample some others.

Now to your questions. For lathering, just do what you normally do. The T&H creams I've used are pretty user friendly. And of course it is always advisable to start with less water.

And the scents.....who cares about what anyone else thinks you should start with? You're going to try them all anyway, just pick one and start shaving....

Tis a great sample pack indeed, I started off with the ones I figured I'd least enjoy like rose and lavender but even they're nice! You don't need loads of water so start off with less is more as Ryan82 said. I got the pack with colognes as well, it's nice to try before you buy when you haven't smelled them all yet. I think you'll enjoy them, I certainly do!

I just got mine Saturday. So far I've tried the lavender twice (lavender is shaving cream only in the sampler) and the Grafton this morning. Both lather easily though neither performs as well as my favorite creams. But wow the scents are really beautiful. My wife commented favorably on the Grafton cologne on the way in to work this morning. The ASB worked as well as my usual nivea sensitive skin asb does. I'm going to have a good time going through this thing.

I'm surprised to hear that, what are your favorite creams? I always found T&H to be right up there in performance...

+1 Absolutely. T&H 1805 remains one of my favorites. As far as lather and performance goes, They're top notch. As a matter of fact, I used Trafalgar the other day.

The lather from Dovo's cream gives me a better shave for sure and leaves my face feeling better. And I think the same might be said for Musgo Real. Not by a lot and the scent may make up for that. After all a beautiful scent adds to the shaving experience too and while Dovo and Musgo scents are pleasant enough, they are not in the same league as these.

Not tried Dovo myself so I can't comment on that one but if you stick with the T&H I'm sure you'll be getting a great lather soon enough. It really does work wonders where I live with hard water. A little goes a long way and doesn't require near as much water as some soaps and creams. Best of luck with it. I'm currently obsessed with their rose cream, the one that I thought I'd like the least. Ironically the one I thought I'd like the most was lime and it just didn't float my boat at all.

I'm continuing my trip through the sampler and I've got to say this is really high quality shaving cream and A/S balm. The volume of lather is very impressive and the glide is excellent. The balm is very very good to my face. And the scents are just outstanding compared to most of the products I use regularly. I used the sandalwood for the 2nd time this morning and the scent really picked me up. I'm not an every day cologne user but some of these scents might convince me to become one. I still think that judging strictly on lather and face feel Dovo's cream is better for me but I can see that it's strictly a personal preference that may be tied to the lanolin content. And with the use of A/S balm the face feel is equal anyway.

Anybody who is considering this sampler should definitely go for it. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
