Asking the Tribal Wisdom - What about using the back side of his "Poor Man's Strop" ?
It should be sorta like the scrub leather on a SRD paddle - me thinks.
    Just asking.

    Default linnen substitute?

Daily I've been using a pasted 'military like' Cotton Webbing Belt. Work fantastic! ( CrO )

Linen too? Gotta check on that.

The word is "linen." In lieu of the real stuff, some worn out Carhartt or Duluth carpenters pants cut to size and folded over to achieve three layers will get you there.

In the Wiki there is actually a plan for a blue jean strop you could try. Or you can order a replacement from SRD. They have a few options and they only cost 4.99 a piece. You can either attach them to a board or like me make a cheap hanger.

I used scrap leather from Tandy and ordered some strop hardware online. Enough for future stropping adventures. The options are really only limited to you imagination.

Good job AA, I do a similar act.
Have you tried using fabric tape to adhere the linen and the poly pro together? Works really well.
Found some herringbone drapery cotton in a local store, brownish gold in color. That would look killer with textured black water buffalo leather and a decorative end cap!

When you cut the bluejean material, stay away from the seat of the pants. Much too shiny for a fabric strop. Pretty damn flat though....

Thanks Ozark. Can we see a pic of your strop? It sounds really cool.
