There are options to have plastic caps affixed outside the claws... but I'm only slightly less against this than I am declawing.

Thanked: 11The only time our first cat ever really scratched anything badly was after we got his claws clipped - well except the afore mentioned dangling incident. We very quickly learned our lesson - no more clipping for him. Our second though ... she loves to scratch the carpet but fortunately not much else.

The other night mine attacked a moth on the curtains of my bedroom... she was hanging from the drapes for almost half an hour.
Still no attention to the strop other than sniffing though!

Milo my dear kitty hasn't scratched up my TM Starter that hangs from the bathroom closet doorknob.
