I would try unscrewing the canvas at the hand end and let it hang separately. If you don't like that then sell it and buy what you like.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If you have the older Dee ring version with both pieces tid together I will provide a second leather end cap and Dee for cost of postage only. Just contact me when I open again. Handles, etc.... are extra cost items.

I prefer using either the Dee or Handle version with both pieces held together. Even if leather or cloth has stretched or shrunk they even out easily in the hand and th two held together feel stiffer. I didn't expect that people would hold one and let the other just hang.

The reason I let one hang, is that I have the starter strop as well, and the handle is starting to conform nicely to the shape of my hand where I grip it. So, as I break in my new strop I figured I'd hold each one individually, as the leather is already double thickness with the handles. Maybe I'll try it as you suggest...

I have no problems with the dangling strop myself, I wasn't complaining, and I absolutely love the strop. I love both of my strops. I have your starter strop here with me on a business trip to Osaka. Travelled like a champ. The Heirloom one is really a beaut.

Thanks Tony I will just start using this and see if everything streches out. I really like the strop I just think I like the newer ones better. I might just have to get another. I don't guess that there is a law aginst having more than one, or two or three or..........

    Don,
Tied together as yours are on the oldr strop they will not adjust to each other. Only the freebie leather cap/dee ring fix will correct that. I meant that once separated as two hanging pieces at the bottom slight difference in length evn out easily whn holding both handles or dees together. Tied togthr they will continue to be a problem, hence the upgrade.
