Default Quick question about pasting a paddle

I just got a brand new paddle to paste with 1.0 and 0.5 micron amplex diamond paste, as well as 0.5 CromOx (crayon from SRD)

question is: once applied, how long does it usually take to dry? I know that humidity, temp., etc. are all factors that will affect the actual drying time, but any ballpark figures? 24 hrs.? 48 hrs.?

    thanks guys!

You can use it immediately but it'll smear around a bit and won't produce quite as good of an edge. By tomorrow morning it should be pretty well set up.

I just got finished pasting the paddle.

I have to say, I was very surprised at the consistency of the ChromOx "crayon"...I was expecting a waxy feeling crayon but it was a very dry, chalk-like stick...I drew a bunch of rather faint "x" marks along the leather and then tried my damnedest to rub it around. I feel like maybe I didn't put enough on, but I am trying to listen to all those experienced saying to not overdo it....I know I can always add more later, but it's just so tempting to make it more consistent across the piece of leather...but I won't do it.

I have yet to use the diamond sides of my paddle yet, as I have been trying to have it dry until using it.......Is it normal for the paste to still have some sort of a residue that comes off if I run my finger on the leather? I did not put too much on, but was not sure if this residue is normal, or if it is an indicator that it needs to dry further?

    anybody?

If you have some bear spots on your crox paddle, you can touch them up, you won't hurt it. You don't want to slather that thing on there, but a little touch up won't hurt at all to even it out. Did you get Tony's superwide paddle's?
