I've been using CrOx but plan to switch over to the SRD .25 and .5 micron diamond sprays and see how that goes.

I use .5 diam. , .25 diam. , and then to Crox, not to many strokes, maybe 8 to 12 strokes will do for me on each, depending the feedback I get with the TPT. Though my thumb pads are getting a bit to toughed up to sense the right feedback from the edge, go figure.

Choice for me is subject to the particular blade I am honing. I use crox, white paste on balsa and .5 and .25 diamond sprays from SRD on felt.

I'm about to spring for the 0.1 CBN spray myself. Will probably spray it on my TM horsehide after I clean/sand it. Can't wait!

Any one else use Baking Soda? (sodium bicarbonate) I used it with no negative effects on the edge.

I rarely use them these days, but I do have paddle strops treated with 1.0, .50, .25 diamond paste and crox. Like some of the other's, I finish on an Escher....but every once in a while, I like SRD's Hard Wool Felt treated with .50 diamond spray. I like it on certain blades.

I have discontinued using pastes on leather but I am using .1 micron iron oxide slurry on a Spyderco UF to finish the edge of my razors. I presume that counts as a paste. This yields a nice smooth edge for me.

I've found that hardware store aluminum oxide polishing compound rubbed on a piece of smooth cardboard works pretty well to polish up a razor's edge.

I use .5uM Dia. and .25uM Dia. and to finish Crox, pastes when I finish up honing a razor, all on Balsa Wood type hone beds. To refresh one I always have to remember that If I taped the razor during honing, that I should put tape on the spine before I refresh, it seem to be logical to do so, IMO.

#1/4 diamond paste on balsa (0 - 0.5 micron so average is 0.25 micron) and also 0.1 CBN on balsa.
