Thanked: 13245I do linen and leather, 50/100 but I don't strop in razors until the next day...
My normal routine is get home from work , dinner, TV and spend time with wifey then Hone for 1-2 hours before bed.. get up in the morning and strop them in...
Does letting the razor rest after honing help????
Who the heck knows, but it is a routine, and I think that is most important to have a set way of doing things, so now if I decide to try only leather I can tell if there is a change good or bad instanly...
How many times must I explain that a little OCD is not a bad thing with this hobby
And all Chronics must be honed on Magical Coticules and stropped on the thighs of vestal virgins on a full moon
Heels of feet HA !!! peasantsLast edited by gssixgun; 02-04-2011 at 02:27 PM.

I have recently been shaving just off my stones...that didn't come out right.
Anways, I've been playing around with finishing my different razors so much that I don't even have any razors that are shave ready but not fresh off the hones. Works totally fine. Once I get a better sense of the hones, I'll start adding strops to see what happens

So many ways to get to that edge! Being a pasted strop guy I'm leaving this alone. BUT ...what was that saying about skinning a cat? It was around in 1961 as I recall.

Why does the "Project Coochie Razor" thread come to mind all of the sudden?!
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

I was thinking Tweety Pie & Sylvester

I really got tired of the coochie razor thread.
