Thanked: 1587The point on inflection marks the transition from cold to warm stropping. This occurs around the 10-15 lap mark on the particular stropping machine used in the study.
Redefining the origin is theoretically possible but not feasible unless or until the price of personal-use Large Hadron Colliders drop significantly.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Also, introducing a newb into the equation may assist as they are also often uncertain where to start. This may shift the origin.
