Grazor is correct Andrew IME...But once you've got the bevel and the edge smooth and polished you don't need to do that much. Like I posted up above...except for newly honed blades I just use the loaded strops for 10-20 quick soft laps each before and then proceed with my normal stropping before every shave.
If a blade started to tug a bit I would do more but that never happens with me since every blade I own has been treated this way already, and I'm always shaving with a different razor.Lupus Cohors - Appellant Mors !

Actually - re-read your earlier post - so after loading up the strop again, just did 40 laps on the leaded leather side.
20 because that's what was advised, and another 20 due to the fact that I became hypnotised making the W&B shinier and shinier, until it gleamed like a diamond in a goats azzz.....

Another great shave today.
Here's the conclusion I'm slowly coming to for my personal testing.
It's said that after setting the bevel - the rest is just "polishing" and refining the edge. Stropping is considered the final process for polishing the edge and also the manner in which we maintain our edges.
I'm very familiar with the last two blades I've been shaving with, and the lead strop IMO, the right word is difficult to use, "softens" isn't quite right, neither is "mellows" the edge, although that description is easily applicable.
The word I've decided on for myself is that the lead strop thoroughly "cleans" the edge - the shave is crisp and clean.
Haven't decided what razor I'm going to try next - but this time it will simply be 10 on the linen, 20 on the leaded strop, and then normal stropping.

I'm with you Andrew! The right descriptive word is hard to pin down, But, "Cools", "Cleans", "Mellows", "Softens", "Keens", "Sharpens" all work for me. The razor shaves better!

I did 50/100 lead strop on my Sanelli this morning before going to my Miller Shell.
I have only shaved with this razor 3 or 4 times, however I cannot remember it shaving so nicely before.
Perhaps it works!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

BTW, my fabric DID turn almost white after a few days. Loaded it up again. Figure to do mine 50/100 on the first app and about half after that. Just gave another 2 a pile of lead 'n leather from the rotation for the next 2 shaves.

I rest my case.
