I am not sure I am understanding correctly or not, but if you want to use the hardware on one strop on another - and they aren't "compatible" with respect to holes...
I would simply grab a couple pieces of hardwood and drill holes in it where you need them and on the stop itself for strength. Seems to me that would work if indeed that is your issue.
Is that the issue?David

Yeah I guess making it a paddle strop will work. Thanks. And yeah that was basically my issue. Thanks again.
Thank you,

Thanked: 37Great review. I look to it as a possibility for my second strop.

Thanked: 522I bought a "roo" strop from one of the Aussies who originally sold them about 4 or 5 years ago. Can't remember his name. Although it is a good strop with a nice draw to it, I don't often use but like it very much. That's a nice piece of leather. However I feel sorry for the kangaroo...........!!

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Great review.
I have two roo strops and they are my go to strops.
I've put a few nicks into it but it's just a flesh wound. It'll still work great.Shaving_story on Instagram

Thanked: 1587Don't feel sorry for the kangaroo - though they no doubt seem a cute and cuddly animal to the uninitiated, they are in fact a vicious, heartless, and remorseless killing machine and Australia is on the precipice of being overrun by these sinister marsupials. In fact, current researchers in Palaeontology now believe the kangaroo is a direct descendent of the Tyrannosaurus Rex - the physical resemblance is undeniable.
So when you start to feel sorry for the kangaroo just think of how things worked out in Jurassic Park. Sobering stuff.
EDIT: Here is an interesting scientific thread on the topic (with apologies to my Christian friends - all tongue in cheek of course ): Tyrannosaurus Rex: The Giant Kangaroo - The Landover Baptist Church Forum

"About the idea of antediluvian people traveling around in the pouches of kangaroos, I think that it is feasible. After all, secular scientists have found that Kangarosaurus Rex probably had feathers:
This is more irrefutable proof that these creatures were Intelligently Designed by God to carry around humans, as these feathers would make the pouch like a soft and comfortable bed for long journeys."
