Stiff is good... You pull it tight so it presents a near flat surface to the blade.
You will not have to pull quite so tight with a thick sturdy leather. Recall that
some folk glue leather to wood to strop on.

With a supple strop the need to strop with no pressure is so very important. <------!!!!!!!!!
Practice stropping with a feather... or a tender roll of newsprint.....

Strop dressing... one trick is hand cream. After applying a small bit of
hand cream to your hands give the strop a rub. Lanolin rich hand creams
    are nice for this.

Not directly on leather. A little on you hands well rubbed in then rub
the strop. If you pick up a water glass and it looks like a three year
old picked it up you are using too much goo.

Talked to another SRP member who had issues. They had no contact and no product either. So, no contact. Paypal dispute opened. Customer really pissed.

From the website About Us page:

We are located in Claremore, Oklahoma and our phone number is 918-923-6188 and we make the strops ourselves in the U.S.A. We do not order the strops from any foreign country. A quality made leather strop at a fair price all made in Oklahoma in the U.S.A.

I think you're looking at a different site. This is what I get:

    Star Shaving

    About Us

Our mission is simple: to provide the best products and service to our customers at the lowest prices possible. We take great pride in our company, our commitment to customer service and in the products we sell. Our online store is designed to provide you with a safe and secure environment to browse our product catalog.

We started out making our own Leather, Balsa and Felt straight razor, knife and tool strops and have added other quality shaving products and supplies.

Anyway, after opening a dispute, they replied promptly just over 30 minutes later offering to resolve the issue or refund my money. Refund, please. We'll see what happens. It's the first time I've had to dispute with a vendor.
