I move out of the bathroom for stropping as I found the shelves that the microwave is sitting on has the right height and stability for me. I clip on with a big carabiner rated to hold a 220 lb. man falling 30 feet....anyway go anywhere you find the comfortable height and stability, no rule on stropping in the bathroom.

I have about 8-10" of paracord and a caribiner fixed to the top of my strops, I just find any handle/ knob/rail/hook that suits height wise and either clip the caribiner on or wrap the cord around and clip to itself, the strops are fixed to this arrangement with the clippy things on dog leads (they are swivel ones) so in theory if I find something of the correct size I could detach the strop and clip it on. You know what, here is a photo....

As I recall, Frankenstein was not what you'd call a wordsmith.

Behind the door at waist level is threaded hook screwed into the front edge of a 3/4" bathroom closet shelf. I pilot-drilled the hole and added a little glue before screwing it in. It's small hook in a small hole in a not-thick shelf. I do not see how hard I can pull on a strop; without issue it abides a light hand on a flat or slightly loose strop. Since I make another strop whenever the mood strikes I put another larger hook inside the door frame to hold the stand-bys. It's all out of sight when te closet door is closed.
