Reading the blurb I was amused by the "50000 Grit" statement. As if it were a hone. Also, they say it is made of the finest bovine leather. Last I looked bovine was cow. Kanayama strops are usually horsehide. Could the blurb be mistaken, or is it a lesser price because of the material ?

Made of authentic bovine leather with 50000 level grit, this strop makes sharpening effortless. The woven canvas clamped to the strop warms your blade before you hone on the leather, ensuring the most effective sharpening job.The metal clamp is linked to a hook, a device you can use to secure your strop to the wall while you sharpen. Equip yourself with this fine Japanese strop, and you'll never need to replace your old straight razor.
