    We will see....

Bill, your teeth are so crooked you could eat corn through a picket fence,

Bill, I have it on the utmost good authority that your brain cavity wouldn't make a drinking cup for a canary,

Bill, I think it was Tarkus who told me that your lower lip hangs down like a blacksmith's apron,

Bill, is it true that your family tree was a shrub?

...there's more! But its getting a bit OTT, don'tcha think?!

    Regards,
    Neil

The OP got the answers that he needed, and he has done the job, so the thread has served its purpose - a while back. QED: nothing left to derail, but that does mean we cannot have a bit of fun - we are not all crotchety old so-and-so's (with the possible exception of me).

It takes all sorts to make a world, surely you have found that out by now at your age? I mean, its not that you have never done it yourself is it? Remember the 'Robin' debacle that got both of us banned for a while. You started it by going off topic and when you were banned I got banned afterwards trying to defend you. Did I ever hear a peep from you? Nada.

I am not being facetious, I'm just pointing out that there are those who can throw stones, and unfortunately you are not among them. Neither am I.

I for one have had enough, so I am quitting this thread now - adieu!

Didn't everyone have a set of the OED for reading material when they were ill at home? Magnifying glass and all?

I'm sorry, but you should never need to use Neetsfoot or saddle soap on a strop. Just rub with the palm of your hand often, to keep it smooth and in good shape. A man that has been dealing with and using straights, strops and stones since the late '70's told me this advice.

I always start with just lather and hand rubbing I use either MWF or plain ole Williams lather on my strops apply let it dry then rub it off try it and repeat if needed

Add a Glass Bottle to Bunish if needed
    Add Saddle soap
    Add Neetsfoot oil

Just step by slow step until it is where you want it

Well my daddy, whom I've known since the '50s, told me to stand on the wall when I was a kiddie, and that he would catch me. Got on the wall, daddy told me to close my eyes and jump, and I hit the ground hard and began to cry.

Why didn't you catch me daddy?" I wailed.
"You gotta learn not to trust everyone, son" he said.

I guess you didn't have the same sort of daddy as me....

Are you trying to be a smartass? I didn't join this site to get this kind of asinine response. I guess we all could take what YOU SAY with a grain of salt, since your point (I guess you were trying to make one) was not to trust what you hear. I don't believe everything everybody tells me and I don't need a teaching lesson from you on who or what to believe. I'll excuse myself from this thread. Is this what I can expect from a "senior" member?
