Thanked: 104I received a reply to an email I sent to Fendrihans in Ontario regarding the new #4560 strop and it's dimensions. They assure me that they have measured the width of it, and it is 68mm. They compared the canvas piece to all others in the range, and those are 65mm, so the canvas piece on this new strop has been widened from 65mm to 68mm. This is good news as it would have been sacrilegious to have made the Cordovan less wide to match the old canvas piece. It should be noted though, that for all their other Kanayama strops, or at least the ones they have in stock, the separate canvas piece remains at 65mm. I and they don't know if the change to 68mm for the #4560's canvas piece will carry on to the rest of his range.

Thanked: 104Further to the #4560 new strop. Fendrihans have further infomed me that the #4560 was a special order, and was a personal decision by Mr Naomi. He has, I am reliably informed not sold the company, nor has he mentored or added anyone to help in his production of strops. He used the title KANOYAMA ON THE #4560 as a special order. so, he continues to make small batches, and Quality control, is said to be excellent on his normal range of Shell cordovan strops that we are all familiar with. It is not certain whether he may in future add handles to other strops.
