Just like honing, everyone does what they do.
I am a big fan of Bick products to rejuvenate strops. Great stuff!
I started on these 2 NOS pigskins yesterday. No before pic, but were in original wrappers, stiff as a board, and covered with a powdery white chalky substance.
May have been mold, but I am not certain.
Cleaned them good yesterday with the Bick1 cleaner.
Today, slathered them with the Bick4 conditioner. Color is coming in and they are getting more pliable already. A daily treatment, both sides until I like them.

@ejmolitor37 - that's a cool find! Way to keep an eye out for shaving stuff, you never know when, where or what you may find. I bet that thing will clean up really nice, cool hardware on top too that should shine up nicely.

@sharptonn - nice pair of strops there, all you need is a little linen to go with 'em

So far its going well. Used a magic eraser from 3m and it looks way better. Going slow to 're hydrate the leather. The hardware is pitted bit cleaned up well. Pretty stoked!
