    Here are some of my favorite oldies;

    -Awesome 700C Certifyd Russian. Like Tc's old Tokyo strop, it was owned and rubbed by Yamamoto the Japanese Barber. Such a lovely thing to strop on!

    -A Wagner Shell 3357. Butter. Pure Butter!

    -Hess #100 clydesdale shell. Pure stropping bliss!

    -NOS Tripoli boarhide. Most effective strop I have, I think.

    -NOS Certifyd Camel 124. Talk about thick! Is it camel-hide? Likely horse!
    Mighty soft and limber to be so thick.
    Here it is next to a pen...

    A seemingly very grungy pen.

    Sharptonn,

    Anytime you need a strop tester give me a shout, I would love to compare what I currently have to a truly vintage piece of leather, the closest I have is my Kanayama 50and according the the seller it’s about 8 years old and that’s old but not truly vintage, the rest of my small strop collection are all recently produced by either Tony Miller or Alastair Summer with Westholme.

    I only have one, a Dubl Duck (Pardon the just so so cell phone pic.)
    Works really nicely especially on thin hollow ground blades.

    Mostly because they were in great shape to start with, a little tlc goes a long way with a great piece of leather. Tc
