Ahso .... a fellow strop acquisition disorder sufferer. Well I have the Premium 1, a couple of TM top of the line strops and a dozen vintage strops. I recently couldn't help myself and got a Keith De Grau signature and a Chicago Special from HandAmerican.

These are wild strops. Like anything Keith makes they are top of the line in quality and workmanship. They are very stiff because you have two regular thickness strops glued back to back. They are sort of like stropping on a board but they are really gorgeous and I will be working with them to try and figure where they fit in. If your a strop freak put them on your to get list for sure.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Oh, damn you, Jimmy. Damn you and your wretched temptations. I have more of StropAD than anything else... I have more strops than razors, soaps, creams, and brushes put together (so far)... I find strops interesting, just the different draws, makes, feels, etc....

Thanks for spending my money >.<

And thanks for the help. Guess I'll go with the Premium I and check out some HandAmerican strops >.>

To resurrect this thread, I'm thinking of getting a premium 1 replacement leather for the reverse side of my premium 3 for a sort of progression. I'm finding I really prefer supple leathers compared to stiff. Just feels much more natural to me. I take it the P1 is pretty supple, for those who've used it?

The SRD 1 is the epitome of supple, It has great draw, One of my favorite strops..
    I highly recommend it..

FWIW, I sort of do a progression myself with strops. With SRD's, I start with 30 on the webbed fabric side or the linen, then 30 on the English bridle leather, followed by 30 on the Premium 1 Leather......
    We have assumed control !

I love mine. My theory is that leather w/ more give to it conforms more easily to the edge of a razor, increasing contact & giving the most uniform (across the entire edge) results. In practice, I definitely get the most consistent results with that strop--& I think adding a lighter-draw stop afterwards would be even better!

I've got a Premium I and love it! I've wanted to try others, a Premium IV in particular, but when you've found Nirvana, does it make sense to leave??

I've got a Tony Miller Latigo that sits idle since the PI's arrival... I almost feel sorry for it hanging there...
