    Well there are no major arteries in your palm... I do hand strop occaisionally but carefully. No need to go super fast. I found it pretty intuitive and easy to do.

    After using my (newish) Kanayama suede side or my newer split side strop I can get minute particles on the blade edge. I hand strop the blade before going to the smooth side of the Kanayama to remove the particles. Works quite well for me.
