    Bill,

    Thanks for the response! Making a balsa paddle strop out of a porch spindle is so cheap and easy that I had hopes of adding some felt sides to it as an added bonus. Should have known it was too good to be true...

    Ihave the hard pressed wool strop from SRD and have Diamond spray on one side and Cro-ox on the other!! I mix the cro-ox 4:1 4 parts 90% alcohol to 1 part Cro-ox then spray onto felt,let dry overnight, works wicked ****a.
