Default Treat SRD modular paddle strop leather?

I just got my modular paddle strop from SRD in the mail (it's gorgeous) and I will use it tomorrow. I was just wondering if I need to treat the smooth leather pad before use of if it is good out of the box? It feels like it's ready to go, but I'm still very new to this and not sure about it.

If I'm correct, that smooth leather is the SRD Premium I. It doesn't need any treatment. I have the Premium I hanging strop, and everyday I rub my hand on it a dozen or so times, which keeps the leather soft and oiled. I would be tempted to do the same with the modular paddle when the leather is attached to the paddle.

    Hope this helps.

Should be ready for use, right out of the package. Those modular paddles are pretty slick, I really need to hurry up and order one...

+1....I have many strops. SRD's premium 1 and their English Bridle remain my favorites in that order. As a matter of fact, I use them together, I'll do 30 linen, then 30 on the English bridle, followed by 30 on the Premium 1. Those strops require no treatment. They are good to go out of the box. The Premium 1 is very supple leather, As Maxi mentioned, Just rub it with the palm of your hand evey once in a while, unwashed, but clean...You want the natural oils in your skin to penetrate it...Works fine, Lasts a long time....

Thank you for all the replies. I'm so giddy to use this thing I almost want to do a quick WTG pass now so I can finish the shave before work tonight.

I used this last night and it worked like a champ. Easy to use and the feel and sound of it were just amazing.
