It's pretty easy to replace the leather part - afik they sell those at a good price.
BTW have you been conditioning it after sanding - that darkens the leather. The key is to use very little repeatedly (whatever you want to use e.g. strop conditioning, neatsfoot oil, just palm rub).
Edit: Note that even if you don't want to splurge for replacing the leather you can shorten it and still end up with a bigger strop than the various 'intro strops'. Perfect example why buying the best strop you can afford, right away is usually the right thing to, and the cheapest too.Last edited by gugi; 09-10-2011 at 03:36 AM.
