Hey guys sorry for the slight , but having lived most of my life in Arizona, I would completely support Sheriff Joe Arpaio if he were to ever run for a higher office. He is misportrayed in the liberal media, and if you think I am wrong, come live in a border state for awhile and you might find you've been drinking the kool-aid the media has been feeding you.

I'm not picking a fight with you. Having lived in 2 border provinces (B.C. and Ontario) I saw more than my fair share of quasi-legal immigrants/residents of uncertain status crossing the border and living in MY country. My problem with Arpaio is that he is going after the President of the United States. The best thing I can say about Arpaio is that he is really, really old.
BTW, I have no love for Obama, I didn't vote for him, but nor do I think he is the evil, "illegal" president the far-right would have us believe. I really think that most of the issue is that he is a black man who is a whole lot smarter than the rest of us. Conservatives tend to hate that whole paradigm.Last edited by mapleleafalumnus; 07-24-2012 at 06:34 AM.

LOL - PLEASE HIJACK THIS THREAD - LOL!
All joking aside - I am not sure I showed my "colors" on the good old Sheriff. I agree that border states have a whole set of issues only one who lives there can really know/understand... actually of that I am sure.David

Well I will say this immigration always has been and always will be a topic that gets people excited. As for the whole ID thing in Arizona - what I think most people outside of the States don't know is, not having ID in the States isn't illegal where it is in many other country's - > say like in Canada.
It adds a level of complexity that most people intuitively don't grasp.
Too tired to get into it now though lol.David
