Thanked: 334For Those Kansas-Based Stroppers
Had an idea this past weekend while attending a wedding in Indianapolis: using corn stalks for strops. A buddy of mine here at SRP is currently in Kansas, and frequently laments about the relative lack of strop material availability. MI to KS is a bit of a ride, and I thought "What is plentiful in KS? BS for sure, but that would provide very little draw. Sunflowers? Too skinny. Wrestlers? Try holding one by the tail and see what happens to you."
Then the "a-HA!" moment occurred just south of the Indiana border -- CORN STALKS!!!
Feel free to offer your questions, comments, criticisms and witticisms.

I don't know about the stalk idea... you would have to do some *serious* x-strokes considering their width.
Now corn leaves, on the other hand have potential!

Thanked: 334Yes, "serious x-strokes" would be a necessity, but they are easily countered by the long length of the stalk itself.

I have been thinking very hard on the topic MLA... very hard! Now if someone beats us to the patent office tomorrow with respect to the corn stalks - there might be an alternative. RED TAPE!!
There's tons of it around!! Mind you, I have never seen it yet as I don't think they actually show it to Canadians. But I have felt it! It's tough!! Brother - I think it's tougher than Roo!! And again - though I have never seen it - it's HUGE! Supposedly its so hard to get around some times you might even need to obtain a lawyer!! No joke!
You would think with it being red and all, that it would be easy to spot but I'll be darned if it doesn't hit me at the most inopportune times! So it should be easy to hide in the den I figure?
I think you should get on it now that you spilled the beans about our stalk strop!!
Let me know - I think we could easily get funding - I hear there are entire lobby groups in place making it! Stands to reason we should get funding to make it practicalLast edited by earcutter; 07-24-2012 at 04:54 AM.

Thanked: 334David --
We have to be very careful about this endeavour -- we don't want Sheriff Joe Arpaio to get too curious about your immigration status! I mean, he's going after the President, and you're a whole lot closer to him than he is to Obama!

Thanked: 334I was actually referring to him knocking on (down) your door and tossing you into Tent City (complete w/pink undies). Heck, he wants to arrest the President of the United States! What chance do a couple of Canadian boys have against that?!?

Thanked: 334Yeah, except for one fact: you're competing w/his idea of red tape strops.
