Fascinating for someone way outside of the fabrication side of straight razors. I liked when 430pat said 'pretty basic' on his tour of the grinder......I like when what looks to me like native genius combines with humility.....thanks again for the post.

Thanked: 1936VERY nice! I'm sure with more time on it you will fine tune it & get things "just right". Looks like you took your time and thought it out well...looks like a top notch piece of equipment. Thank you both for sharing!

I am thinking about a smiling blade jig for it but at this point am sticking to straight blades I will leave the smiling blades to Master Charlie. As far as cooling I have installed a cold gun which will sufficient cooling for the final grind operation. What I really would like is for some blade makers to come and try out my machine give me ideas.

Well, If I were a lot of years younger and had, again, the full machine shop capabilities, a lot good folks to call upon, and serious money to spend; maybe then I could, perhaps, match the work. He done very good and I've known a lot of engineering and design folks who would not have even come close.!

That's awesome. We have brought back and/or preserved a lot on the user side, and it's fantastic to see another leap forward on the production side.
