I have been dabbling with camel bone and buffalo horn now also.
Made some bone scales for a friend and put his nice straight in it and now have made scales for me also for a couple of my blades.
The horn is pretty easy to work with and the camel bone seems scary and fragile but all went well.
I find the bone gives a straight a really wicked and rich look.
Got to wear some sort of mask as sanding them does give a really wild smell.

Oh yes, the smell of sanded bone. It's the only material I've used so far that stinks worse than my neighbour.
