Yes, very similar to crack.
I purchased a Henckels Twin Works "Keene Brothers Hardware" Half Hollow off the Bay a few weeks ago. One scale was cracked in half and there was some heavier rust on the lower rear section of the blade.

I under sanded the blade to stay away from the etching. She spent a night in evaporust which i noticed colorizes the interior of the etching and helps it to stand out. Some light pitting remains but shes shiny. This angle is not the best but shows the etching 'Keene Bros Hardware'.

I started working on the scales yesterday. Burmese Rosewood, with a black spacer and aluminum liner.

Cut, sanded, epoxied. There she sits until tomorrow.

Right now they are about 4.5 to 4.8 mm thick on each side. I'm curious as to what anyone's opinions are for the best width. I was going to slowly hand sand the sides down until they looked about right, and make sure they are even with a micrometer. I will be putting a slight taper in the ends as well. Ill take any tips!
Thanks for lookin'!
Have yet to do a set with liners.
But if the wood I'm working with is hard and strong, I typically sand them to the thickness of a popsicle stick.

What a difference a good razor makes.

Bought this ages ago, but it's been in a box for forever. Anyhow, it's in not such a bad state. So I'm gonna clean it up, hone the blade that's in and try it out. We're away next weekend, so think I'm gonna take it with as my travel razor.

Had one of those.
Shaved with it a couple times, and gave it to my nephew.
He's into safety razors.
I'm all about the straights, but the rolls is a nice shaver.
Took the blade out and honed it on the Naniwas and stropped it by hand, worked better than the case they come in. JMO, YMMV
Aha. I have learned how to quote in this app.
Yeah it'll be coming out to get an initial honing on my Belgian blue. Think I'll give the internal strop a clean and a go.
I think I have like 3 or 4.
Way I see it I'll never know if it's any good till I try it [emoji12]
