Looks great, Richard, but is not a frameback but a 'rattler grind'! :)

Just spent several hours sanding and polishing some of what I thought were the original scales for this Greaves. Made a pivot bushing, pinned the bottom. Time for a test-fit. Nope. I had pulled the wrong scales! :banghead:
Found the right ones! Starting over. Oh well, a head start on a Stenton for later! :rofl2: Too much crap lying around!

To the best of my knowledge, top to bottom.
Frameback
Faux frameback
Rattler

No. Look at them. Frameback is two-piece. Spine and tang are one, blade is another. Faux is also two piece. One piece blade and tang, slide-on spine is another. Rattler is a solid one-piece razor. Wide spine, thin grind.
Here's an end view of the razor that was found on Iwo Jima. The picture doesn't show it but when held in hand you can see where there had been a slot cut for the blade to fit into and then mechanically secured.

I hope that this helps clarify the confusion.
Trying to get inspired to make something out of a section of Black Unicorn Horn.
