Looking at the spine, I would say its been somewhat reground, that should be bevel set before going any further.
It'll tell ya how wonky things really are.
Without tape will reveal the true spine wear.
I assume its a wedge.?

Nice pin redo,, I don't like those brass nail/pins either.
And very attractive brush turning DM. What kind of wood? Terrific markings in it.

Or, Mr. Greaves' new clothes. I'll try a shave with it tomorrow.
First time I've worked with horn.

It is kind of a pitted old blade... but... I started it, and what the heck, it's fun to learn some of the ins and outs of horn, and the razor has just the heft I like.
No sharp points or edges now Roy. Your directions helped a lot in that mater. It takes three times as long to pin now and 2000 to 3000 taps (guessing) but the outcome on the pins is better now. Smooth to the touch. Thanks for the details on getting a better pin job. I'll get faster with practice. And i could use some better files. These cheep H.F. files suck.
BTW, where do you guys buy quality mini sized files?
The etching on that scale looks great and so does that brush. Nice work guys.
