Thanks guys, just looking I think to get the straight sanding lines down the face of the blade to provide some uniformity...the spit is almost gone, so thinking "straight lining" it will achieve the consistency I'm looking for...not going to go to town on it.

I have a lot of space and like it when they are around. They could all take turns being there and I would not mind at all. Mind you I am also away for work to what amounts to half of the year.

Question on the making of the shorty. Its cracked thru the edge but not thru the spine. Si I'm guessing I'd need to cut it? Or would it snap correctly if put in a vice and forced over? Guessing I got to cut it but just wanted some comments.

My method for cutting is to put it on top of a wet sponge, and cut through with an abrasive disc, like a zip cut wheel. I also only ever use my dremel with a foot pedal control, giving me two hands to control and handling.

I have a windoless like cellar area that's dry I am thinking that will be my spot. Have to see though.

I like to use a C-clamp on the tang and put a block of wood under the sponge/rag. If you use the clamp on a table as well, you can 2-hand the dremel.

Rest an elbow on the table or both on your ribcage to increase the stability of your arms

And...assure the sparks and dust are aimed away from you!!!

Here's a pic.
Wet rag on cutting board, razor c clamped to board, on top of wet rag, spray the blade down, cut from "EDGE TO SPINE"
VERY SLOWLY.....!!!!!
Do not rush this or force the cut, there should be no chattering of the cutting wheel.
If so, ball the rag under the blade so it doesn't.
You want a nice wet pillow under the blade to absorb the vibration.
Keep it wet, keep it cool, and wear your damn safety glasses.!!!

Not sure I'd say working on. But it's a lovely day here so got all the pipes out gave them an overdue clean and gonna leave them to air a bit.
