Great advice here thanks guys thank you.. How would one attempt to remove the frame? There aren't any screws like I have seen on other framebacks.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Yes, they can be on quite solidly, esp the steel type as there may be rust underneath. light tapping toward the toe with a brass punch at the top,tang end of the spine with the toe on a wooden block. A penetrating oil soak will help. If it does not come off easily, I would forgo that. Damage might result if you push the issue!

Just my 2ct, but if you want to learn about razors, do the first ones by hand, using only sandpaper. Look at the handsanding guide in the wiki.
Powertools + razor + beginner = disaster.

I'll attempt to take of the frame, but if I can't I'm not too worried. Probably starting tomorrow I'll keep you all posted!
