I'm not saying it's pretty but it's possible I only ever take my polishing jobs to 800 with a light 1200 then a sisal mop with a fast cutting compound. Them a stitched mop with a fine compound and finally the same compound on an unstitched mop with the last stroke in th same direction. As the wheel is turning. I hope you don't mind but this is the result the firs pic is at 120g this was in much the same condition as yours.
