Have you started making the scales yet Dave?

I'm actually working on my Jonathan Crooks FBU blade I got quite some time ago. I have some great vintage scales for it & the end of one on the wedge end got screwed up so I shortened them & actually I'm glad I did or it would have looked too long. After mocking it up with some screws, it looks just right. It had some slightly larger collars & I saved the originals so I'm sanding the scales down now. It'll look like an old original straight razor. I did like Tom & I polished my collars on a pin vise but instead using a toothpick to hold them from spinning on me.

Are you buffing them with the dremmel or reg buffer
I've been putting it off... I'll need some old school collars and pins too.
Kinda what I figured, buufer would eat that toothpick.
Thanks , for the info
Dave, get with Austin aka ajkenne. He's got some of the old style domed & bullseye collars. Here's a couple of my pretty Wosty's:

Build some razzers, boys! I will be done with my honing to come back and see some talk...Yet no razors!
Let's GO! :D
Those Fredericks have some of the greatest curves! I've got a big chopper but it will be a while until..
Well last night I turned on the movie, got into bed with my hand sanding mobile station, and my lady said absolutely not... :( she said I work enough outside the bedroom and it was break time. Today was busy, but tomorrow I start the sanding of the W&B anchor.
And I plan on getting some serious time in! Gonna do it all by hand, I don't want to screw it up on the table mounted buffer. I want a perfect mirror finish, no ripples. I have a hard time doing the buffer without ripples.
