Great news about a great guy!
Thanks for the update Tom. I was thinking positive thoughts today.
Thats awsome news..!!!
Cant wait to hear from him again. Its a heart to heart moment for him and I.
Anyone else up for a coronary...[emoji23]
That is indeed great news! Hope that soon we will be seeing his helpful and insightful posts!
I'm gonna need to go back and read a few pages, gotta catch up after a couple days away.
Just want to wish you a late happy birthday Outback! It's been great to be able to learn from and alongside you. Thanks for your contributions.
The Butchered Blade! Great name change, very relevant.
At the beginning of the thread, I felt very comfortable, jumped right in and its been like a home base ever since.
Thanks to you guys!
I'll have some good progress coming soon, its driving me crazy sitting on the sidelines without work to show..
I just got in & saw all the posts & thread name change. Thanks to Glen for that. I knew if this went on a lot longer something would happen. I'm so glad Richard is doing well. I knew he would be ok with today's modern technology.
I agree with Tom, outback, B52 & all others who mentioned Harold's blade. I think if he takes out that "hook" it will look a lot better & the heel would be rounded more nicely. At first I was thinking C-Mon Blackie but I have seen these as well & nothing wrong with it, it will be an excellent shaver when done. I have actually taken a "hook" out with a Dremel & finished using a DMT. No Dremel necessary though, it just speeds up the process sometimes.
Thanks for sharing Harold!
Well it's history now! I looked & noticed I still had a window open to this thread so here's to Phreaky Phrank........

Sorry Andrew, I just had to do it! :rofl2:
Thanks for the welcome, folks. This thread is the place I've been looking for since finding my interest in straights.
Tomorrow I hope to visit my local Pet Shop. See if they sell those big ole cow bones. I'm experienced at wood working. I've got all the tools. Need to stock up on dust masks.
I'm still trying to find a local supplier of 1/16" ID brass washers. Next option is order and wait.
I find the tough part on ordering washers is that the postage is always more than a pack of washers so i try to stock up when i do order. You mays as well get some nuts and bolts for mock up too.
